From The Lines Desk…

MLB Promos…April 9, 2003

Betting is all about winning.  Unfortunately betting is all about losing too.  A few of the things that I consistently try to convey in these articles is only bet those games that you find value in, and I also try to pass on techniques to help find where the values are.  It’s like the old saying, “you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.”

One thing that helps make betting more profitable is trying to limit your failures.  This year SportingBetUSA has come up with some great Promos that help do just that.  The first Promo is the half price promo.  Pay only half price on every ESPN televised Major League Baseball game. That is you lay -105 on that particular game.

The normal 20 Cent line is reduced to 10 cents! For example, Normal Money lines:
Yankees -110 VS Red Sox -110 if broadcast on ESPN become Yankees -105 VS Red Sox -105.

That's only half the price just for you on Major League Baseball Games, giving you more value.

If the homerun is King then the No Hitter is god.  Being able to bear witness to a no hitter is something to be remembered and cherished.  As reward for wagering on a game when a no hitter is toss SportingBetUSA refund lost wagers.  This doesn’t include, parlays, proposition and future wagers, but if you bet a game and your team is being dominated by the opposing pitcher, it just gives you a reason to root the other way.  The same promotion also goes for when a player hits for the cycle in a game in which you’ve wagered.  Below are the recent No Hitters and those that have hit for the cycle.

Recent No Hitters:

  • Hideo Nomo 04-04-2001 Boston 3 at Baltimore 0
  • A.J. Burnett 05-12-2001 Florida 3 at San Diego 0
  • Bud Smith 09-03-2001 St. Louis 4 vs San Diego 0
  • Derek Lowe 04-27-2002 Boston 10 vs Tampa Bay 0

These are the most recent players to hit for the cycle:

  • Jose Valentin White Sox 04-27-2000
  • Jason Kendall Pirates 05-19-2000
  • Mike Lansing Rockies 06-18-2000
  • Eric Chavez Athletics 06-21-2000
  • Luis Gonzalez Diamondbacks 07-05-2000
  • Damion Easley Tigers 06-09-2001
  • John Olerud Mariners 06-16-2001
  • Miguel Tejada Athletics 09-29-2001
  • Craig Biggio Astros 04-08-2002
  • Greg Colbrunnn Diamondbacks 09-18-02

The next promotion is probably the one that will payout most often and gives you the most to root for.  SportingBetUSA will refund your total when you get slaughtered SportingBetUSA defines the Slaughter Rule as getting beat by 10 runs or more once the final score is posted. If you bet the Under in a game where the Slaughter Rule is in effect, SportingBetUSA will refund your losing under wagers.

For example; if you bet under 10.5 Runs, and the final score is 14-1, or 16-3, or 11-0, your UNDER wager will be refunded.

So if your Under Bet goes bust, start cheering for homeruns because the Slaughter Rule is always in play.  To see last seasons slaughter house payouts Click Here.

The Promos aren’t going to make you rich but its just another twist when you bet with SportingBetUSA to help limit your exposure.

Good Luck and bet smart.
